What is mastopexy with prosthesis and when is it recommended?

Mastopexy is a cosmetic surgery procedure that corrects and lifts sagging breasts , restoring them to their original position. This is performed when the nipples and areolas are below the breast crease , when the breasts are sagging , or when the breast volume is small and the skin is loose . In this last case, mastopexy with implants is performed.

Adult women of any age can undergo this operation , provided they have reached the end of their physical development.

There are two types of mastopexy with implants : simple mastopexy (in which the breasts are repositioned in the center of the chest without altering breast volume) and augmentation mastopexy (which aims to correct and reshape the appearance of the breasts by increasing their volume using implants). Mastopexy with prosthesis: What does it involve?

Mastopexy with implants is the procedure that aims to lift, correct sagging and reshape drooping breasts.

This procedure is performed in the center of the chest , where the breast shape is reshaped and alterations in the areola and nipple are corrected. To carry it out, incisions are made around the areola, and sometimes below it, at the level of the crease under the breast. Depending on the size of the breast and the distance that needs adjusting, the resulting scar and the amount of skin that needs to be lifted will vary.
