Mastopexy with vertical scar in a female athlete: before and after
Case fact sheet
- Patient: 46 year old woman
- Technique: Mastopexy with vertical scar.
- Entry: 1 night
- Anesthesia: General type TIVA
- Duration: 2 hours long.

Pathology: Our patient, an athlete with a heavy training load, had noticed that over the years her breasts had gradually emptied and sagged. She wished to lift both breasts and at the same time add some volume to balance her figure.
Procedure: We performed a mastopexy with a vertical incision, repositioning the areolas, reducing their size, symmetry between the breasts, and achieving a fine, concealed scar thanks to a tension-free closure, thus obtaining the result desired by the patient. In addition to the mastopexy, we performed breast augmentation using a 295cc round, moderate-profile implant, placed subpectorally, resulting in fuller, more projected breasts.

Before you compare yourself to this photo
When there is both volume loss and sagging, an implant alone is not enough: the areola must be lifted and skin removed. That is a mastopexy.
