Abdominoplasty in a woman with stretch marks
Case fact sheet
- Patient: 55 year old woman
- Technique: Abdominoplasty
- Entry: 1 night
- Anesthesia: General type TIVA
- Duration: 2 hours long.

Our patient A's abdominoplasty. She has had a lot of skin, stretch marks and fatty tissue removed. Very important: we have managed to give her a perfect navel that does not look operated on (you can really notice the surgery because of this detail).
What I observed when evaluating it
A post-pregnancy abdomen: stretch marks on the skin and separated rectus abdominis muscles. Stretch marks are elastic fibers in the skin that are broken during pregnancy and do not regenerate.
What a tummy tuck does for stretch marks, and what it doesn't.
Only the stretch marks located within the area of skin that is removed disappear. Those outside that area remain. By stretching the skin downwards, these stretch marks lengthen slightly and their appearance may improve, as seen in this case.
The belly button
It sits in the center of the abdomen at the correct height, with a natural appearance.
The scar
It was treated with laser treatment at the end. The laser helps, but it doesn't make it disappear.

If you're looking at this case for a specific reason.
When there's excess skin and the muscles have separated after pregnancy, the gym won't fix it. Abdominoplasty is the solution.
