Frequently asked questions about lipotransfer or lipofilling

Yes. In a lipotransfer our objective is to redefine parts of your anatomy, it is essential to find the proportion with the rest of your physiognomy. For this reason, we carry out a prior study until we find the technique that best suits your anatomy.

Yes. With the liposuction and tumescent infiltration technique, you will leave the operating room directly with a pressure therapy belt, without the need for drains or bandages, and you will be able to return to your basic daily activities within 24 hours. Although you will feel fine and lead a normal life, we recommend taking 4-7 days off work to ensure recovery and not subject the body to unnecessary stress. Our recommendation is that you walk 30 minutes a day from the first postoperative day.

Yes. We use “TIVA” (Total Intravenous Anesthesia), a new technique that does not use anesthetic gases and will not cause headaches, vomiting, or nausea.

It is the safest anaesthetic technique currently available, with which you will be fully monitored and controlled. In addition, we have had our own anaesthetist on our team for over 10 years, who will not leave your bedside until you wake up.

It will depend on the extent of the lipofilling. Generally, for small areas (cheekbones, chest, etc.) it is not necessary.

Yes. We can perform liposculpture in different areas of your body. However, we recommend not exceeding a maximum volume of fat extracted for your health reasons. This fat extracted from your own body, after centrifuging it and treating it in the operating room itself, can be introduced into any part of your anatomy.

There are areas of the body that tend to accumulate fat that persists even though we are at our ideal weight. Depending on whether the patient is a man or a woman, these areas will be one or the other, since the distribution of fat follows a hormonal pattern. Men tend to accumulate fat in the abdominal area and on the flanks, while in women it is located on the inner and outer part of the thighs, saddlebags, the inner part of the knees, buttocks and abdomen.

All of the areas we have mentioned can be treated with liposuction to obtain the fat needed to remodel other parts of the body. Once we have obtained this fatty tissue, we can process it and use it to add volume to the areas where we wish to gain it.

You will be able to walk from the first postoperative day.

Three months after the operation you will be able to introduce more exercises into your routine, such as running, swimming or cycling.

We want to be honest with our patients: it is impossible to completely eliminate cellulite, although it is true that it may improve with liposculpture-lipotransfer.

The accumulation of fat in certain areas of the body is determined by the existence of fat cells.

The greater accumulation of these cells in different areas of our body is conditioned by adolescence and hormonal increases.

When filling with fat, the transferred cells will be alive, so if we gain weight after lipofilling, the areas where we have injected the fat will gain weight at the same rate as the rest of the body.
